Other Avenues is turning 50!!!

Please join us on October 19th at the Great Highway Park between Lincoln at Judah for our Block Party to celebrate 50 years of historical community in the Outer Sunset. We are bringing together the community through music, food, games, and education! There will be local musicians, interactive games, family-friendly activities, free samples, vendor and organizational tabling, and worker-owned coop and sustainable food system education and advocacy. This is a great opportunity to meet the faces behind the brands you love and learn more about the cooperative food systems movement in the Bay Area. We are excited to be working with NoBAWC, who is also celebrating their 30 year anniversary, Friends of the Great Highway Park, and SF Parks and Recreation Department to make this event possible.

After the festivities, we welcome all to take a stroll up to the Far Out West Community Garden for a film screening and pick up any movie snack supplies at Other Avenues on the way!

Asks for All Participants & Attendees

• This is a ZERO WASTE and SUSTAINABLE event and the first order will be to reduce.
• TRANSPORT GETTING HERE:  Walk, bike, roll, use Muni, piggy-back ride, and/or carpool.  Lower your footprint by getting out of that car.  For more information to get here map your route by visiting Friend’s of Great Highway Park’s “how to get here” web page.
• WASTE: We encourage you to bring your own water bottle, utensils and/or napkins. There will be two three-bin (blue, black, green) systems to collect refuse. If there is waste please dispose of them in the proper bin.
• WIND ADVISORY: Please be mindful about preventing environmental contamination by securing your possessions.
• If you see any trash you see on the ground, do something about it. We want to leave the Great Highway Park cleaner than we found it; that will require a constant community effort.
• Stay positive! Be an ambassador to those coming from within and from outside the community! Support all in this inclusive event.
• Many Hands Make Light Work!  We need you after the event. We know you may be tired but if we all stay and recruit friends to help clean after the event then things will go a lot faster.  Look for the leads in clean up and demobilizing the event.
